TEHRAN -- The building of the Savings Fund of Bank Melli located on Ferdowsi Street has been registered as an Iranian national monument.

This building was constructed by a German architect named Heinrich between 1921 and 1931. Heinrich combined the architecture of governmental buildings of ancient Iran and European architecture for the first time in this building.

According to the Cultural Heritage Organization (CHO), the main facade resembles the architecture of the Achaemenid period and the main entrance is a little higher than its other parts.

This building, which was originally built to house the Bank Melli Iran, was used as a Savings Fund of Bank Melli Iran after the Islamic Revolution of Iran.

Besides the two stone lions at the entrance of this building, the architecture mostly resembles that of the ancient period.
